Holiday Shopping Campaign
Lassen County Chamber of Commerce has launched our Holiday Shopping Campaign, Magic Made Local. This year we have 23 participating businesses around town for you to get all your holiday shopping needs. This campaign will run through Dec. 20. Once you have visited five or more of the participating locations and receive a stamp in your brochure, you may drop it off at the Chamber office, 1516 Main St. for a chance to be put in for raffle baskets. Chamber Mixer
Make plans to join us for the November Chamber Mixer hosted by Milwood Florist from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 17. Stop by to enjoy a no host bar and appetizers. Everyone is welcome; you do not need to be a chamber member to attend, and we encourage you to bring a friend.
Annual Leaf Collection
The Annual Leaf Collection runs from Oct. 21 through Dec. 5. City of Susanville residents may drop off bagged leaves that are securely tied to the vacant lot on the intersection of Skyline Road and Numa Road. No waste or trash allowed, bagged leaves only, weight limit is 40 pounds. If you need assistance, call (530) 257-1041 to arrange a pickup of tied and bagged leaves.
Job Fair
The Alliance for Workforce Development hosts an in-person Job Far for Lassen County from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov.16 at Jensen Hall on the Lassen County Fairgrounds. This is a great opportunity to connect with multiple local employers and view a variety of job openings in Lassen County and surrounding areas. Memorial Tree Lighting Ceremony
Honey Lake Hospice brings to you its 19th annual Memorial Tree Lighting Ceremony. The “Light Up A Life” Tree Lighting ceremony will be held at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 19 at the Methodist Fellowship Hall, 635 Cottage St. in Susanville. This one-hour heartwarming ceremony event takes place outdoors followed by an indoor reception with refreshments. Nutcracker
Susanville Best of Broadway brings you the Reno Dance Company’s Nutcracker at the Veterans Memorial Hall. At 2 and 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 19 and at 1 and 6 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 20. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased at Lassen County Chamber of Commerce and Margie’s Book Nook.
Sunrise Rotary Beer and Wine Tasting
Susanville Sunrise Rotary presents it 19th annual Beer and Wine Tasting Saturday, Nov. 19 at the Jensen Hall,. Tickets are $35 per person which includes delicious appetizers and a commemorative glass, also offering a silent auction, no need to be present to win. Turkey Trot
Lassen Senior Services holds its 9th Annual Turkey Trot, at 8:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 24 at at 1700 Sunkist Drive in Susanville. The course is 3.1 miles and there will be prizes for best costumes and largest family group. Donations of non-perishable food or cash are appreciated. Lets fill the pantry for our low-income seniors. Lassen Hoops
Lassen Hoops holds opening registration. Online signups will run from Oct. 24 through Nov. 18 at http://clubs.bluesombrero.com/lassenhoops. In person signups will be from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 2 and Tuesday, Nov. 15 at Susanville Pizza Factory. Third through sixth grade boys and third through eighth grade girls are eligible to register.
Thanksgiving Day Dinner
Susanville Assembly of God hosts a free Thanksgiving Day Dinner, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 24. This will be dine-in, drive-through or delivery, located at 473-465 Richmond Road in Susanville. For more information, or to request delivery, call (530) 257-5000.
Magical Country Christmas
Mark your calendars as this year’s Magical Country Christmas is just around the corner! From 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, we will ring in the holiday season with Santa’s grand entry parade, Christmas tree lighting, fireworks, vendors, food and beverages, a hot toddy walk for adults 21 and over and free photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus. This is an evening you will not want to miss, so bundle up and bring the family to this year’s Magical Country Christmas. Blue Star Moms Craft Fair

Susanville City Kickettes Christmas Extraordinaire
Susanville City Kickettes hosts its Christmas Extraordinaire at 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 10 and at 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 11 at the Veterans Memorial Hall. All J&J Dancers, singers and performers will be showcased at this recital. Tickets will be available at Margie’s Book Nook and Zaengles Home Store.
