Lassen County Chamber of Commerce has recently updated our website conveniently giving membership their own member portal to make payments, upload events to the community calendar or simply chat with us. A “Members Only” email was sent out, if you did not receive one or need assistance, contact the Chamber office. Visit lassencountychamber.org to view the new look.

Labor Law Posters
2023 Labor Law Posters have arrived, if you have placed an order, the posters can be picked up from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. If your business would like to place an order, call the office at, (530) 257-4323.

Cowboy Festival
Yee-Haw! Join the Lassen County Fairgrounds for its second annual Cowboy Festival Friday, Feb. 3 and Saturday, Feb. 4. This event will be full of western vendors, a chili cookoff and top-notch entertainment. The concert doors will open at 6 p.m. each night and the tickets are $26 each to the concerts. Northern California Cancer Advocates Crab Feed
Mark your calendar as Northern California Cancer Advocates hosts its annual Crab Feed at the Diamond Mountain Casino Willow Room at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 4. Tickets are $60 and can be found at the Diamond Mountain Casino, Lassen County Federal Credit Union or any NCCA member.

Family Fun Night Sweetheart Bingo
Lassen County 4-H Ambassador Team presents Family Fun Night Sweetheart Bingo at 6 p.m.Tuesday, Feb. 7 at Jensen Hall, Lassen County Fairgrounds. If you are a bingo lover, this night is for you. Come win some awesome prizes. All proceeds from this event will be donated to the Susanville Blue Star Moms for care packages for our active-duty service men and women. The cost per bingo bundle is $5, each bundle includes five game cards: limit four per player. For more information, call contact (530) 310-6882.

‘Greatest Love Story Ever Sung’
Sierra Theatre will be hosting a live event at 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 10 — a tribute to Johnny Cash and June Carter, “The Greatest Love Story Ever Sung” Live in Concert. Tickets are available at Sierra Theatre, Uptown Cinemas, and Margie’s Book Nook for $25 cash only. Support for this event to encourage more in the future.

Chester Winterfest Dog Sled Race
Sierra Nevada Dog Drivers presents Chester Winterfest Dog Sled Race. This event will be held from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 11 and Sunday, Feb.12. There will be a Meet and Greet the Mushers and Dogs from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 10 in the Holiday parking lot in Chester. The race will be held Saturday and Sunday at County Road 324 (where Cedar Lodge is in Chester). Follow the signs.

Someone Special Valentine’s Day Dance
Susanville Elks Lodge brings to you Someone Special Valentine’s Day Dance from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 11. Live entertainment by DJ Cain, photo booth and cake. Dads bring your daughters, moms bring your sons or bring someone special to the dance and have some fun. Tickets are $20 per family and can be purchased at Margie’s Book Nook or Lassen County Chamber of Commerce.

A Taste of Beef Sip of Wine
Cattlemen and Cattlewomen present A Taste of Beef Sip of Wine Saturday, Feb. 11 at the Lassen County Fairgrounds, Jensen Hall. Live entertainment featuring the Rickety Bridge Band, silent auction and raffle items. All the fun starts at 5:30 p.m.  Music and full bar start at 8 p.m. Tickets can be purchased for $35 at Margie’s, Book Nook, Zaengle’s and Lassen County Fair Office or purchased the day of the event for $40 at the door.

Valentine’s Day Dinner
Valentine’s Day Dinner at The Walker Mansion Inn in Westwood at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 14. On the menu: tender top sirloin roast, baby back ribs or Cornish game hen, including soup, main, course, beverage and dessert, all for just $29.95 Reservations are required by calling (530) 256-2133.

Beers and Bags Cornhole Tournament
Join Susanville Rotary for the first inaugural cornhole tournament. The Beers and Bags Cornhole Tournament will be held from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 18. Compete for cash prizes while enjoying food and beverages. Proceeds for this fundraiser stay local to support community youth and service projects. Preregister through PayPal – Rotary International of Susanville: $60 per team or registration at the door opens at 9 a.m.: $70 per team.

Ice Skating
The rumors are true! Lake Almanor Area Chamber is very excited to be bringing an Ice-Skating Rink to Chester this winter. The organizers hope this will bring joy and fun activities for youth and families of this area. The ice-skating rink will be available on the weekends until March 26, 2023. Guests can skate in 45-minute sessions for $5 per person, and that includes skate rentals. Hours of Operation: Fridays 4 to 8 p.m., Saturdays noon to 4 p.m., and Sundays noon to 4p.m. These times are subject to change. Lassen Library Events
Lassen Library has a list of upcoming events! Family Literacy Day, geared towards families with children 0-5 years old, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 3. They will be discussing kindness through stories, songs and crafts. the Adult Book Club meets at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 8. They will be discussing last month’s book selection and passing out the new book for February. Kids Craft Day will be held from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb, 18,  geared toward elementary aged children. Storytime is at 11 a.m. every Tuesday and Wednesday, geared towards children ages 0-5, including songs, stories and crafts. For more information, call the Lassen Library at (530) 251-8127.

Farm Bureau Scholarships
Applications for Lassen County Farm Bureau scholarships are now available. These scholarships will be awarded to deserving high school or college students pursuing a career in agriculture or agri-business. For more information call the Lassen County Farm Bureau office at (530) 257-7242. The application deadline is March 24, 2023.
