Lassen County 4-H BBQ, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 18 at Lassen County Fairgrounds. Tickets can be purchased from a 4-H member or at the 4-H office at 707 Nevada St. for $15/Ticket (all ages). Tri-tip, salad, baked potato, roll, dessert, and a drink. Benefits every Club in Lassen County and funds scholarships and educational events. Join Lassen Land & Trails Trust for the 6th annual Farm to Table Dinner at the Rice Canyon Ranch in Susanville at 5 p.m. Saturday, August 12. This year’s event features the trifecta of a stunning farm venue, a Michelin-recognized chef and a four-course meal featuring ingredients and beverages from purveyors in the agricultural landscape that the Land Trust is dedicated to conserving. Join Lassen Family Services from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 12 at Memorial Park. We will be hosting Duck Races with a chance to win 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prizes and a free resource fair. Chimney Fund’s annual Backwoods BBQ Competition. Looking for teams to sign up to compete. Donation Entry fee $50. Cooking starts at 7 a.m. Judging at noon and tasting begins at 1 p.m. Chimney Fund provides teams with Tri tip, ribs, and 1/2  hicken. Tasting kits are $7. In our community, Lassen College presents a unique opportunity to engage in various enriching discussions with their free lunchtime lecture series. The series takes place every Tuesday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Lassen Library District conference room on Main Street. These weekly, hour-long sessions delve into diverse topics ranging from practical skills such as writing effective professional emails and starting a small business, to crowd-pleaser topics including beekeeping and the mysterious world of spiders. They even cover critical issues like managing financial worries and cyber-awareness skills for the whole family. For a special treat, they also offer beginner and intermediate classes in AI with ChatGPT. All are invited to join these free, educational events. Join the fun with Bottle & Brush Art Bar for their New Summer Schedule for Trivia Night. They’re moving to once-a-month schedule for Trivia Night for the next few months, starting in May.
