LMUD Customer Appreciation Celebration
Make plans to join Lassen Municipal Utility District, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 7 at 50 N. Gay (Corner of Main and Gay streets), for its annual, Customer Appreciation Celebration. The first 50 customers will receive an emergency, hand-crank, solar-powered radio. One-quarter pound all-beef hotdogs, cold drinks, chips, and desserts. Enter to win a $100 Energy Gift Card. Walk Out of Darkness
Lassen County Sheriff’s Office is participating in this year’s Walk Out of the Darkness, suicide awareness walk, with a sheriff’s office team. Join them at 9 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 9 at Memorial Park. Individuals who raise more than $150 earn an event T-shirt and teams that raise $500 or more earn a team banner to carry during the walk. Lassen Family Services dancers are preparing for this year’s 10th annual Dancing For A Brand New Me Oct. 21 22 at the Veterans Memorial Hall. Lassen Community College Lunchtime Lecture Series
In our community, Lassen Community College presents a unique opportunity to engage in various enriching discussions with their free lunchtime lecture series. The series takes place rom 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. every Tuesday at the Lassen Library District conference room. These weekly, hour-long sessions delve into diverse topics ranging from practical skills such as writing effective professional emails and starting a small business, to crowd-pleaser topics including beekeeping and the mysterious world of spiders. They even cover critical issues like managing financial worries and cyber-awareness skills for the whole family. For a special treat, they also offer beginner and intermediate classes in AI with ChatGPT. All are invited to join these free, educational events. Bottle & Brush Trivia Series
Join the fun with Bottle and Brush Art Bar for their new summer schedule for Trivia Night. They’re moving to a once-a-month schedule for Trivia Night for the next few months, starting in May. Calvary Kids Storytime
Calvary Kids Storytime, 450 Richmond Road, from 1 to 2 p.m. every Tuesday. Bring your kids to a safe, peaceful place where they can be a kid. There will be two book reading groups, age 1-5 and 6-11.
