Chamber Mixer
Mark your calendar for this month’s Chamber Mixer hosted by Diamond Mountain Casino and Hotel. We expect an evening of fun with live entertainment by Tim Knecht, food, drinks and a raffle! We hope to see you all there from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, May 19.

Margarita Fest
The time has come for this year’s Margarita Fest hosted by Soroptimist of Susanville,. Margarita Fest will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, May 13, at Jensen Hall at the Lassen County Fairgrounds. Enjoy 10 margarita flavors, a nacho bar and salsa contest sponsored by Sierra Dessert Properties. Tickets are only $25 and can be purchased at Axia Home Loans or Haven Salon.

Grizzliette Show
The annual Grizzliette show is at 7 p.m. Friday, May 13, in the LHS Big Gym. The drill team will be showcasing their routines from this year, including a special performance from their alumni. Local teams and groups from LHS Cheer, Diamond View, Richmond, J&J Performing Arts, and Dance Elevation will also be featured.

Humble Homestead Grand Opening
Join Bensons Humble Homestead for their grand opening from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 14, at 712-960 Sunnyside Road in Janesville. Join the fun with a grand opening BBQ and lots of can goods and crafts. Bensons Humble Homestead is an educational homestead with a mission to expose everyone to agriculture in hopes they find the agriculture niche they’re looking for. Pine Needle Collection Day
Pine needle collection day in the Lake Forest community is scheduled from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, May 14, at the lot across from the Firehall on Janet Way. There will be four dumpsters this year. This is a great opportunity to get your property and the community fire safe; No trash. For more information, call 257-9593.

Humane Society Yard Sale
The Lassen Humane Society holds its 15th Annual Yard Sale. Donations of new or gently used items will be accepted between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday, May 9, through Monday, May 16. This year’s yard sale will be held Friday, May 20, Saturday, May 21, and Sunday May 22. For more information, call and leave a message at 251-7247.

Junior Fishing Derby
The annual Lassen Sportsmans Club Junior Fishing Derby along Paiute Creek and Susan River is scheduled for May 21. The busy morning starts at 5 a.m. with free registration and check in at Memorial Park. Registration and check-in end at 9 a.m. Derby prizes will be awarded after the 3 p.m. closure of the event. W inners do not need to be present to win. However, kids shooting for the ‘largest fish’ prizes should be off the river by 2:4 p.m. and must be in line for weigh-in by 3 p.m. to qualify. Door prizes will be drawn at the same time and for these winners must be present. Kids ages 2 to 15 are invited to come enjoy a beautiful morning of fishing, but don’t forget to dress warm as mornings along the river are still chilly!

Classical Pops Concert

Footloose at the Fairgrounds

The Lassen Fair is excited to announce its Junior Fairboard hosts Footloose at the Fairgrounds Saturday, May 21. There will be local vendors selling popcorn, candy, Mini Benniz, specialty coffee and drinks. Gates open at 7 p.m. and the show starts at 8 p.m. The cost is $10 per car.

CASA Gala Night

Mark your calendar for Gala Night for CASA Appreciation Saturday, May 28. This will be a fundraiser and silent auction event benefiting the children of Lassen County in the CASA Program. D oors open at 5:30 p.m. and dinner is served at 7 p.m. at Sentimental Journey Ranch in Janesville. Ridin’ High at the Ranch

The Susanville Area Bicycle Association hosts Ridin’ High at the Ranch at Susanville Ranch Park on Saturday, May 28. This will be Race No. 2 of the event to be held in Susanville.
