Chamber Update March 20-26

14th Annual Spring Show
Hello, Spring! After having to postpone this event for the past two years, the Chamber is ready to bring to you the 14th annual Spring Show from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 30 at Lassen County Fairgrounds. If your business fits into Home, Garden, Recreation or Wedding Vendor, we welcome you. Art Classes at Lassen County Arts Council
The Lassen County Arts Council is now offering their Spring art classes! They will be offering an Acrylic Painting class will be held from 6 to 8 p.m.  Friday, March 25 for $40. They will also be offering a Portrait Drawing class from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 16, Saturday, April 23 and Saturday, April 30th for $60 with opportunity to purchase materials. ‘Smallfoot’
CASA has rescheduled its movie night: “SMALLFOOT” to 5 p.m. Saturday, March 26 at Community Church. ‘SMALLFOOT’ is a family friendly movie that “takes place high in the Himalayan mountains, where a community of yetis lives according to rules literally set into ancient stones.” The event entry and snacks are by donation. Lassen Lightning
Lassen Lightning presents its Spring Fling from 5 to 10 p.m. Saturday, April 2, at Sentimental Journey. This event will include live entertainment, dinner, and photos. $40 for a couple and $10 for each additional guest. Free Self-Defense Class
Lassen Family Services is partnering with the All-American Mixed Martial Arts Academy to host a free self-defense class from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 9 at 55 S. Sacramento St. The class is open to everyone 12 and up. There is limited capacity, so be sure to register at lfsselfdefense.eventbrite.com. For more information, call 257-4599.

Farm Bureau, American Ag Credit Scholarships
Applications for Lassen County Farm Bureau scholarships and American Ag Credit are now available. These scholarships will be awarded to deserving high school or college students pursuing a career in agriculture or agri-business. Students can obtain applications on the Facebook page Lassen County Farm Bureau, by contacting their school counselors or by calling the Lassen County Farm Bureau office at 257-7242. The application deadline is March 25, 2022.

Cattlewomen, Cattlemen Scholarships
Application for Lassen County Cattlewomen and Cattlemen are now available. Open to both male and female, two scholarships will be available, Cattlewomen Agriculture Scholarship and Cattlewomen Memorial Scholarship. Students must be enrolled or enrolling full time in an Agriculture-related course of study, be a Lassen County resident for at least one year, and meet a minimum of 2.5 GPA. Lassen Association of Realtors Scholarships
Applications for the Lassen Association of Realtors Scholarships are now available. This year LAR will be offering three $1,000 scholarships. Students must be in their senior year attending a high school within Lassen County. For more information, call 257-5220. The application deadline is April 15.

Lassen Fastpitch and Lassen Lightning Softball Scholarships
Applications for Lassen Fastpitch and Lassen Lightning Softball are now available. This year Lassen Fastpitch and Lassen Lightning Softball will be offering primary scholarship in the amount of $1,000 and one secondary scholarship in the amount of $500. Students must be high school seniors who have played a minimum of two years in the local Lassen Youth Fastpitch Softball League; must be a senior at Lassen High School; plan to attend an accredited college, university or trade school. Pheasants Forever Jake Trussell Memorial Scholarship
Applications for Pheasants Forever Jake Trussell Memorial Scholarship are now available. This year the Northeastern California Chapter 443 of Pheasants Forever is offering two scholarships to deserving Lassen County seniors. Preference will be given to students who plan to major in wildlife biology. For more information, call 310-1366. The application deadline is April 22.

LMUD Scholarships
Applications for Lassen Municipal Utility District Scholarships are now available. LMUD is offering two $1,250 scholarships for high school seniors and one $500 scholarship for returning college students — in a program designed to enhance the education and resulting careers of deserving local students. Applications can be accessed on their website or for more information contact call 257-4174. Application deadline is April 29.
