4-H Open House
Lassen County 4-H Free Open House from 4:30 to 6:30 Tuesday, Aug. 22 at Tractor Supply. A free come and go event. Come learn about 4H. You will have the opportunity to meet 4-H members and volunteer adult leaders and see what our 4-H program has to offer you. Members from eight clubs will be exhibiting projects, answering your questions, and serving root beer floats. 4-H open enrollment Friday, Sept. 1 through Sunday, Nov. 15 — 5 to 18 years old. LMUD Customer Appreciation Day
Make plans to join Lassen Municipal Utility District, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 7 at 50 N. Gay (Corner of Main and Gay St.), for the annual, Customer Appreciation Celebration. Lassen County Sheriff’s Office is participating in this year’s Walk Out of the Darkness suicide awareness walk. Join them at 9 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 9 at Memorial Park. Lassen Community College Lunchtime Lecture Series
In our community, Lassen Community College presents a unique opportunity to engage in various enriching discussions with their free lunchtime lecture series. The series takes place every Tuesday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Lassen Library District conference room on Main Street. These weekly, hour-long sessions delve into diverse topics ranging from practical skills such as writing effective professional emails and starting a small business, to crowd-pleaser topics including beekeeping and the mysterious world of spiders. They even cover critical issues like managing financial worries and cyber-awareness skills for the whole family. For a special treat, they also offer beginner and intermediate classes in AI with ChatGPT. All are invited to join these free, educational events.
