Chief of Police Kevin Jones announces retirement

Kevin Jones announced his retirement from the Susanville Chief of Police position Tuesday.

“After 32 years as a police officer in the city and county, it is with sadness and excitement that I announce my retirement from the position of chief of police. I will remain in my position until a new chief is hired as I assist in the transition,” he wrote in the statement.

“It has been an honor and a privilege to serve our community all these years,” the statement read.
