It’s one of those rights of passage — when a young teenage driver finally gets the keys to the family car.
There are many safety and rules of the road lessons young drivers need to learn due to their lack of experience and the Susanville CHP offers a free class to educate those new drivers and their parents.
According to a statement from the California Highway Patrol, “In an effort to prepare young drivers to drive responsibly, the California Highway Patrol is offering new driver education classes for new drivers and their parents.
“Start Smart, presented by CHP, addresses such topics as the safe driving practices, the rules of the road and new driver license requirements.”
The free class will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 24, at the Susanville Area CHP Office, 472-4000 Diamond Crest Road.
