My name is Chris Gallagher and I am the District 1 County Supervisor. In my second year as a supervisor, the board chose me as board chair. I served in that capacity for one year.
My education includes an A.S degree in Park Management, a B.S. degree in Administration of Justice and an M.P.A. degree in Public Administration. I am also a graduate of the FBI National Academy in Quantico Virginia.
I spent 20 years with Watsonville Police Department going up through the rank of captain, eight years as police chief in Arcata, Susanville and Los Banos, before retiring in 2009. Following retirement, I served as the general manager of Spalding Community Services District for seven years and now serve as the general manager of the Indian Valley Community Services District. My wife Dee and I live in Susanville near the golf course.
This year, 2019-2020, has proven to be filled with challenges in Lassen County and throughout the county. Fires, COVID-19, retaining local businesses and increasing the general fund revenue has been my major focus. Morning Glory Dairy was able to retain its contract with the prisons and stay active during the pandemic, Measure M is bringing in important new revenue, the Health Department works tirelessly to find ways to reopen businesses and our local OES Chief kept the Sheep and Hog fires from destroying entire communities. I will continue to fight to make Lassen County strong and a great place to live!
Vote Nov. 3 for Chris Gallagher, District 1 Supervisor!
