Church hosts drive-through nativity

Experience the true spirit of Christmas during a live drive-through biblical production of the birth of Jesus Christ held in Susanville this December.

This family-friendly, outdoor Live Nativity will run for three nights — from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 16 through Sunday, Dec. 18.

Admission to the Live Drive-Through Nativity is free. You can arrive anytime between 7 and 8 p.m. Any vehicle that is in line on Richmond Road by 8 p.m. will be let through. There will be a sign at the back of the line at 8 p.m. on the last vehicle.

This event is open to the public and located on the grounds of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 905 Richmond Road, Susanville across from Diamond View Middle School. Be sure to tune in your radio to posted channel and enjoy inspiring music as you make your way through The Live Nativity experience. This event will feature scenes leading up to the birth of Jesus Christ.

Roman soldiers will guide you through as you experience Mary and Joseph traveling to the City of David to pay their taxes, the shepherds in the field keeping watch over their flocks by night and the glorious birth of Jesus Christ into the world.

Children and adults will love the authentic of live sheep, donkeys, and even camels.

The church is thrilled to announce that two new scenes will be added this year to make the experience even more memorable. And once again you can also look forward to that tender family moment in the humble setting of Christ’s birth where a newborn baby will make its acting debut as Baby Jesus, the central figure of the event and season.

We are excited to share this beautiful story and believe that it will bring the spirit of hope, peace, light and joy to all who attend.
