Two Susanville residents — Quentin Daniel Navarette, 21, and Lupe Maria Aragon, 38, were booked into Lassen County Jail on charges of vehicle theft.
According to a statement from the Susanville Police department, about 6:45 a.m. Friday, Oct. 21 a resident near Small Street reported a 2020 White Kia Sorrento had been stolen from the front of the residence. A report was taken, and information about the vehicle was sent to surrounding agencies.
About 7:49 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 22, officers received information from a concerned citizen about a vehicle stuck on a rock near the Hidden Acres Mobile Home complex at 2965 Johnstonville Road.
Officers arrived on scene and observed Navarette and Aragon attempting to get the reported stolen vehicle unstuck. Officers began felony stop procedures, and both were taken into custody without incident.
Navarette and Aragon were transported to the Lassen County Jail for booking, and the case has been forwarded to the Lassen County District Attorney for prosecution.
