The city of Susanville Thursday announced Ryan Cochran has been appointed Chief of Police.

“Chief Cochran holds a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and began his career in Los Angeles as a Transit Police Officer. In 1998 he came to work for the City of Susanville, and in his 23 years of service Chief Cochran has received several law enforcement achievements and awards. Through his strong relationship development within our community, Chief Cochran has become a valued employee of the City of Susanville and the Susanville Police Department,” read the statement from the city.
“The City would like to congratulate Chief Cochran on his promotion and we look forward to his many successes leading the Susanville Police Department.
