City Council meets Wednesday

The Susanville City Council hosts a regularly scheduled meeting at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 15 at the City Council Chambers, 66 N. Lassen St.

The council meets in closed session at 4:30 p.m. for a conference with labor negotiations from the Administrative Unit, the Fire Unit, the Miscellaneous Unit, the Professional Technical Unit and the Public Works Unit.

Open session begins at 5 p.m. Items on the agenda include public comment; the consent calendar; a public hearing on nuisance violations at the former Lassen Community Hospital site; a resolution to assess penalties against a Shasta Street property; a presentation by Maverick Renewable Energy; a resolution regarding a memorandum of understanding between the city and the Susanville Indian Rancheria regarding an economic development partnership; a report on the Animal Control Shelter; a new lease agreement for a hangar at the airport; a resolution to approve the purchase of a new mower for the golf course; a resolution regarding the removal of a hazard tree on S. Weatherlow Street; a resolution regarding asbestos and lead paint testing at two locations on S. Weatherlow Street; a report on city project priorities; an update on use tax administered by the California Department of Tax and Fee Administration; department reports; and future council items.

The council’s next regularly scheduled meeting will be held at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 1.
