City council recognizes Debi Savage on upcoming retirement

Following an 18-year career, city Finance Manager Debi Savage is retiring from her position.

The Susanville City Council recognized her on her upcoming retirement and her many years of dedication during the Dec. 16 meeting.

“As the finance manager, Savage has been an asset to the city as a manager, supervisor, confidant and caring friend. (She) has spent over 18 years of her life, dedicated to the city of Susanville and its employees,” the proclamation read

Savage started as an accountant with the city in 2002, promoted to senior account clerk in 2003 and in 2004 she moved on to the role of accounting technician, then again in 2004 she was made office supervisor and became assistant to the finance chair in 2005. During February 2011 she became assistant to the city administrator and finance director, and finally in 2014, she became the city’s finance manager, a title held until her retirement Dec. 31.

“The council would like to recognize her accomplishments during that time,” read the proclamation that Susanville Mayor Mendy Schuster read aloud during the meeting.

The council thanked Savage for her years of dedicated service and gave their “very best wishes for a happy and relaxing retirement. Her absence in the financial department will be dearly missed.”
