With community support, the city of Susanville is developing many ideas and projects to improve the quality of life for residents and visitors alike.
Priorities include community partnerships, community vitality, increasing safety and ensuring citizens’ ideas are heard.
The city hosts a series of community workshops so residents can share their vision. Some projects take years to become a reality, and the city seeks community input about how to begin.
Community input meetings
The city hosts community input meetings at the Susanville City Council Chambers, 66 N. Lassen St. from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, June 14, from 10 a.m. to noon Monday, June 25, from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, July 10, from 1 to 3 p.m.
Wednesday, July 25 and at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 1.
Potential project types include sidewalks, bike paths, recreation, trails, safety, other public works infrastructure, community services, community enhancement programs and training.
Volunteers
The city also seeks volunteers to help create a vibrant community.
Activities include grant research, landscaping, parks/facility maintenance, litter collection, removing graffiti, graphic design, volunteer coordination, data collection, community outreach and walking groups.
