The watermain work under Harris Drive is complete, and few residents were believed to be impacted, according to the city of Susanville.
“On Dec. 29, the city of Susanville’s contractor, Rapid Construction, replaced a section of old steel watermain under Harris Drive with a new ductile iron watermain. The work was completed quickly and without incident, therefore most customers did not experience any interruption in service,” read a Wednesday, Dec. 30 statement from the city. “It is likely that only a small number of customers were impacted. The work has been completed and no additional shut downs are planned at this time.”
The water main shutdown occurred between the hours of 9:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. The Public Works Department extends its appreciation for customers in the impacted area.
“Many customers reduced water consumption, which was a significant factor in so few customers losing service. If you are a Susanville water customer and experienced a loss of water service or reduced pressure on Dec. 29 between the hours of 9:30 a.m. and 1 p.m., we would like to hear from you. Please call Public Works at 257-1041,” continued the statement
