Community can vote on Zellamae Miles Woman of the Year awards

Lassen Community College hosts the 2020 Zellamae Miles’ Women’s Conference Saturday, March 21 in the LCC Sports Complex.

As part of the conference, an array of candidates vie for the 2020 Zellamae Miles Woman of the Year awards.

This year’s candidates, nominated by community members, include Linda Alberico, Heather Arter, Penny Artz, Debbie Baehler, Lisa Bernard, Tara Bias, Bernadette Chavez, Starlyn Clare, Angela Crowley, Carol Jean Curry, Elizabeth Darley, Claudia Dunlavy, Holly Egan, Connie Herman, Dawn Hershberger, Brenda Hoffman, Helen Leve, Linda Powell, Mimi Rena, Susan Rios and Odette Swift.

According to a flyer for the event, “Any women nominated who are not on this ballot either declined participation or were unable to provide consent.”

The community is able to vote for three women from the list — the voting deadline is Monday, Jan. 6.
