Mimi Rena, one of the organizers of the new Susanville Dog Park already under construction at the Sierra Road site, announced a contest to find a name for the new park.
“We are having a ‘Name the Dog Park’ contest that anyone can enter at Milwood Florist on Main Street,” Rena said. “The winner will bet a free case of the dog food of their choice or the cash equivalent. The winner will be decided June 30.”
Rena said the fence is going up and the water system is being installed and the nearly one-acre park should be ready to open later this summer.
Rena said the park includes an area for small dogs and an area for large dogs, too.
Rena also thanked the Susanville Rotary Club and the city’s public works department for their assistance with the project.
