OK. It’s only early November, and that means its probably a little bit early to start thinking snow.
But it’s not too early to support the Coppervale Ski Area as it hosts its annual Dinner/ Dance from 4:30 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 8 at the Lassen Community College Cafeteria/Student Union.
The event features live music by Westwood’s Rickety Bridge, door prizes, raffles, a silent auction, street tacos, beer supplied by Lassen Ale Works and wine supplied by Grocery Outlet.
“We’re just trying to raise some money to keep the place open,” said Norm Wilson, who’s managed the operation for many years. “We always try to do these fundraisers so we can pay for the insurance … We have to have insurance and a lift inspection every year.”
Wilson said the facility should be ready to go by the middle of December, and Coppervale seeks volunteers to help with brush clearing efforts due to cutbacks in the number of inmate crews.
Tickets are available at the LCC Student Union and Margie’s Book Nook.
