The Susanville City Council unanimously approved a resolution Wednesday approving the hiring of Dan Newton as the interim city administrator.
According to the resolution, which was approved through the consent calendar during the April 7 city council meeting, Newton will continue to be governed under and receive all of the benefits agreed upon in the Memorandum of Understanding covering Susanville Management Unit.
Additionally, he will return to his position as public works director, with all rights hereto, once he has separated from the position of interim city administrator.
Moreover, as listed in the resolution, beginning March 8, he will receive a 15 percent pay increase while he is in the position of interim city administrator.
