As the county continues its discussions on the upcoming 2021/ 2022 fiscal year budget, the board unanimously adopted last year’s budget to continue operations.
The current fiscal year ends June 30.
“Staff is working on preparing the budget for next fiscal year, 2021/ 2022, and like we’ve done in past years, in order to facilitate ongoing spending until that budget is adopted hopefully in early August, we recommend adopting last year’s budget,” County Administrative Officer Richard Egan shared with the board last week, June 8.
The staff report noted the adoption of the recommended budget allows departments to continue operations prior to the adoption of the final budget, with the exclusion of capital assets, transfers-out and new permanent employee positions.
