Jason Housel, Lassen County’s information services supervisor, advised the Lassen County Board of Supervisors of possible interruptions in phone service as the county changes phone carriers.
According to a statement from the county, “The county of Lassen is undergoing a phone system upgrade that includes a carrier change on Sept. 28. As the phone numbers are in the migration process, there may be some interruption of service on the business lines.”
Housel said he does not expect any impact to the 911 Dispatch, the Animal Control facility or the county clerk/recorders fax line.
The possible interruption of service could begin about noon Thursday, Sept. 28, and “last anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours. Public safety departments and those with higher call volume will have priority in returning to service,” according to the statement from the county. “We regret any inconvenience you may experience due to this scheduled outage.”
