As of the 8:15 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 13 update, there are 177 active COVID-19 community cases, 1,476 recovered, 11 are currently hospitalized and there have been 11 deaths reported: A total of 1,674 community cases — an increase of 14 new cases since the Wednesday update.
At the local correctional institutions, Lassen Cares reports there are 26 active cases, 1,914 recovered and two deaths at High Desert State Prison. Additionally, there are 64 active cases and 1,123 recovered cases at CCC, and no active and 245 recovered at FCI Herlong.
Positive correctional staff tests, if they live in Lassen County, are included in the community cases. As of the Jan. 13 update, according to the CDCR COVID-19 tracker, at CCC there are currently 34 active staff cases, and 33 active staff cases at HDSP.
Last week, Health and Social Services Director Barbara Longo shared some of the age ranges of eight residents who have passed from COVID-19. In Lassen County, four of the local community deaths have been from residents 85 years and older; three have been between 75 and 84 years old; and one has been a resident between the ages of 55 and 64.
Locally, there have been 14,270 tests administered, with 12,263 returning negative and 333 pending.
