Arriving just a few hours past midnight in the new year, Jenna Miles gave birth to the first baby at Banner Lassen Medical Center in 2020.
The yet to be named baby girl was born at 3:50 a.m. on Jan. 1 to Miles, mother. The baby weighed 7 pounds, 2 ounces and measured 19 1/4 inches at birth.
In celebration of having the first baby of the year, the parents received a Banner Lassen Hospital gift basket filled with baby necessities, receiving blankets, toys, diapers, etc. all of which was donated by the employees of Banner Lassen Medical Center and Banner Clinic.
Banner Lassen Medical Center has a “First Baby of the New Year Party” in September to start the donation process.
Throughout the rest of the year, staff continues to add to the Gift Basket which the Women’s Infant Services Department keeps for the arrival of the First Baby of the New Year.
Banner Lassen delivered 219 babies, 113 girls and 131 boys in 2019. Baby Girl Miles has the honor of being the first one delivered this decade.
