Court sets hearing date on city’s petition on CCC closure injunction

Lassen County Superior Court has set a hearing for 3 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 17 regarding the city of Susanville’s petition for a preliminary injunction/ restraining order and ultimately a writ of mandate regarding the state’s decision to close the California Correctional Center in Susanville.

The respondents in the case include the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, California Governor Gavin Newsom and Secretary of CDCR Kathleen Allison.

This is the information posted on the Lassen County Superior Court’s website regarding the city of Susanville’s legal action against the state.
