News COVID-19 booster shots available October 28, 2021 Submitted Lassen County residents who received any of the three COVID-19 vaccines are now eligible for a booster shot if they meet new criteria outlined below.A Pfizer or Moderna booster dose is recommended if you:Received your second dose at least six months ago, andAre 65 or older, orAge 18+ who live in long-term care settings, orAge 18+ who have underlying medical conditions, orAge 18+ who are at increased risk due to social inequity, orAge 18+ who work or live in high-risk settingsA Johnson & Johnson booster dose is recommended if you:Received your first dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine at least 2 months ago, andAre 18 or olderIn line with the CDC, high-risk jobs are defined as:First responders (healthcare workers, firefighters, police, congregate care staff)Education staff (teachers, support staff, daycare workers)Food and agriculture workersManufacturing workersCorrections workersU.S. Postal Service workersPublic transit workersGrocery store workersPlease note, Public Health will not be accepting walk-ins.
