Crash leads to DUI, stolen vehicle arrest

A Feb. 5 single car crash on Highway 36 led to a man’s arrest on charges of vehicle theft and driving under the influence.

According to a statement from the California Highway Patrol, Jacob Worrell, 45, of Garberville, California, was traveling westbound on Highway 36 west of Highway 89 about 8:02 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 5 when for unknown reasons the reported stolen 2004 Ford he was driving struck a snow berm, damaging the vehicle. Worrell was not injured, but alcohol is suspected as a factor in this collision.

Worrell was booked into the Tehema County Jail.
