Crash victims identified

This morning Erica Allen, the superintendent of the Dutton/Brady Public Schools, released the identities of Dutton, Montana residents involved in a motor home crash near Mineral Tuesday, May 5.

Allen made the disclosure in a message to the community Wednesday morning. The school district also provided information to families on how to “help children best understand this tragedy” and provided counselors to meet with families and students in the small, rural community.

Killed in the crash were Courtney Loney, 38, and Emma Loney, 10, a fourth grader.

Mason Rose, 12, a sixth grader, was transported to St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Red Bluff.

According to Allen’s statement, “I reach out to you today with a heavy heart. As many of you know, Emma Loney and her mother passed away in a car accident in Red Bluff, California yesterday. Mason is currently in St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Red Bluff. We received news this morning that Mason is out of surgery and doctors expect a full recovery. I have waited to share information until family has been notified.”
