The cause of the fire is under investigation, according to Susanville Fire Department Engineer and Incident Command Leon Myers, and the blaze was contained to the building of origin.

The initial call for the fire was at around 6:15 a.m. and when crews arrived about 20 percent of the structure was involved, Myers added. The building was largely empty, except for some office supplies and furniture.

Responding agencies included the Susanville Fire Department, Cal Fire, CDCR Fire, Susan River Fire Protection District and Janesville Fire Protection District, Susanville Police Department and the Lassen County Sheriff’s Office.
