Crews respond to Pardee Ave. fire, no injuries reported

The Susanville Fire Department dispatched to a residential structure fire located at 316 Pardee Ave., with possible victim entrapment about 4:55 p.m. Feb. 1, according to a statement from the SFD.

Upon arrival, the first due engine company reported heavy smoke and fire coming from the detached garage in front of the residence. Quick and aggressive firefighting efforts were performed, the fire was contained and extinguished to the detached structure.

There were no occupants in the structure, and all occupants of the home were accounted for. The detached garage suffered heavy smoke and fire damage to the structure. Upon investigation, the cause of the fire was determined to be an electrical welder being used in the garage.

The SFD was assisted by the following agencies: Susanville Police Department, CalFire, the Lassen County Sheriff’s Office and Susan River Fire Protection.

Total equipment committed to the incident was five chief officers, two engines, one truck and three SPD units — totaling 16 personnel.
