Crews stop Cummings Road vegetation fire

Update: Crews quickly attacked a vegetation fire Tuesday, July 2 on Cummings Road off County Road A3.

According to Janesville Fire Protection District Chief Joel Ehrlich, the vegetation fire reached about 2.8 acres. Crews were dispatched around 2 p.m. and all was mopped up by about 5:30 p.m.

The cause is undetermined, Ehrlich said, and burned only vegetation.

Standish-Litchfield Fire Protection District, Cal Fire, CCC, the Lassen County Sheriff’s Office and CHP assisted Janesville Fire Protection District with the blaze.

According to the Susanville Interagency Fire Center, crews responded to a vegetation fire today, around 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 2 on Cummings Road, off County Road A3. SIFC said forward progression was stopped and it was being mopped up. The fire was about 2.8 acres, according to the Janesville Fire Protection District.
