According to a Monday evening, Sept. 7, post from the Cal Fire Lassen-Modoc Unit, “crews have responded to three fires burning along Highway 139. The first fire is located one mile south of Adin. This fire is a small spot that is 1/10th of an acre. The second fire is closer to A-2. This fire is 1/2 acre. The third fire, which is the largest, started in the unburned area between the Gold Fire and Highway 139 near Wayman’s Cabin. This fire is 20+ acres. Forward progress has been stopped on all three fires. Highway 139 is open with traffic control. ”
The fire was allegedly caused by a trailer losing it’s tire and dragging its axle. Anyone with information about this vehicle should call (530) 257-2221.
