Daniel Eugene Zinn, 58, of Susanville, CA, passed away suddenly at his home on December 22nd, 2022.
Daniel “Danny” was born September 20, 1964, in Susanville, CA. He was the 6th born of Juana and James Zinn.
Danny enjoyed anything and everything outdoors and had a passion for sports. He played football and baseball in high school but he excelled at baseball the most. He graduated from Lassen High School in 1982. After he graduated he went on to play for the Lassen College Cougars. Playing baseball was one of the biggest highlights of his young life. He was an excellent athlete.
In 2000, Danny adopted his ex-wife’s daughter, Kaitlyn and quickly became the father she loved and deserved. He always stepped up in anyone and everyone’s lives. He was always the man that was there for you no matter what.
Danny was well known for his years as a bouncer and bartender for the T&A lounge. Danny was also a juvenile hall officer who deeply cared about his job and the kids he watched over. In Danny’s short life he had worked for the Gold Mine, Juvenile Hall, he was a Bouncer and Bartender for 20+ years, worked for Dish Network and he was also a Locksmith. He could work on anything that was thrown his way.
Danny had a love for metal detecting, shooting with friends or family and 4-wheeling out in the mountains and desert. He was an adventurer. He loved to volunteer for the salvation army every year to ring the bell on the holidays.
Danny was very well known by everyone and he will be deeply missed by so many.
Daniel is proceeded in death by his mother and father Juana and James Zinn, brother Bradley Zinn and granddaughter Evelyn Grace.
Daniel is survived by his daughter Kaitlyn Zinn (Chris) Sonora, CA. Sisters; Rita Phillips-Spain (Ralph) Sparks, NV, Carol Baublit of Susanville, CA, Karen Simon of Sparks, NV and Brothers; Gary Zinn of Wisconsin and Robert Zinn (Kristina) Chico, CA. He also leaves behind his nieces and nephews, his rescue dog Callie and so many friends and loved ones.
Services will be held February 4th at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 120 N. Union Street, Susanville, at 11 AM
