David William Lisk

David William Lisk, 73, of Litchfield, Ca., passed away March 9, 2023, in Corning, Ca., after a heroic battle with cancer. David was born in Salinas, Ca., on November 22, 1949, to Stan and Anne Lisk. He attended Sacred Heart Elementary School and Palma Jr. and Senior High Schools. Upon graduating from high school, David attended Hartnell Junior College and Chico State University, where he studied agriculture.

David met the love of his life, Judy, in 1969. They married in 1974 and had recently celebrated their 49th wedding anniversary. They had two children, Eric and Meredith. David had a 36-year career with the California Department of Forestry, starting as a seasonal firefighter in Monterey County. He became a permanent employee in Butte County as a Fire Apparatus Engineer. He finished his career as a Fire Captain at Antelope Camp/Training Center in Lassen County.

David was a member of the B.P.O. Elks, a life member of the NRA, a committee man for the California Rodeo Salinas for over 50 years, and belonged to the Pacific International Trap Association where he shot over 50,000 registered targets.

David was preceded in death by his father Stan and brother Daniel. He is survived by his wife Judy, mother Anne, brother John, his children Eric Lisk, Meredith (Richard) Allen and Dalton (Salina) Dingler and his grandchildren Sophie and Wesley Allen, Andrew and Brady Lisk and Tim and Sharlotte Dingler.

A rosary will be held on Friday, March 31, at 5:00 p.m. at the Hall Brother’s Mortuary in Corning, Ca. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, April 1, at 9:00 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Church in Corning, Ca. Reception to follow at the church hall. There will be a celebration of life (AKA Trap Shoot) in Standish, Ca., when the weather improves.
