Deer, motorcycle collision injures Ohio man

The California Highway Patrol reports a 46-year-old man from Grove City, Ohio, suffered minor injuries when the motorcycle he was riding struck a deer.

According to the statement from the CHP, Jeffrey Cummings was riding a 2016 Harley-Davidson motorcycle eastbound on Highway 32 west of milepost marker 5.78 between 65 and 70 miles-per-hour about 11 a.m. Friday, May 8 when a deer walked across the road.

The motorcycle collided with the deer, fell on its left side and came to rest on the west side of Highway 32.

Cummings was ejected and flown to Enloe Hospital in Chico for treatment of his injures. He was wearing a helmet. The deer sustained fatal injuries.

Drugs and/or alcohol are not considered a factor in this collision.
