A Santa Ana woman is in the Lassen County Jail facing charges of burglary and car theft.

According to a statement from the Susanville Police Department, about 1:15 p.m. Thursday July 9 officers from the SPD responded to a Main Street grocery store on a report of a stolen vehicle that just occurred. An investigation determined a female enter an employee section of the business and stole a purse with car keys in it. The female used these keys to steal an employee’s vehicle out of the parking lot. Lassen County Sheriff’s Dispatch Center relayed this information to other agencies.
Shortly after the theft, Lassen County Sheriff deputies located the vehicle on Springridge Drive near Highway 139. Deputies performed an enforcement stop and the driver was arrested without incident.
Kimberly Moranville, 27, of Santa Ana, was arrested at the scene for vehicle theft and burglary. She was booked at the Lassen County Jail and held on $30,000 bail. Moranville also was arrested at 2:20 a.m. Thursday, July 9 for being under the influence of a controlled substance and was subsequently released on a Notice to Appear.
