Dixie Fire impacts phone service, 911 call center

Some phone service and emergency call centers are affected by the Dixie Fire, the Lassen County Sheriff’s Office shared Thursday night, Aug. 12.

“Due to Dixie Fire activity near County Road A21, we are experiencing intermittent interruptions to phone service in both the 911 call center and the non-emergency dispatch center. Please limit phone usage until full service can be restored. There is currently no estimate for restoration as telecom crews will need to assess damage once fire officials say it is safe to go into the area,” read the Thursday evening statement.
