Don Wagner issues statement on Voter ID Initiative qualification for the November ballot

Orange County Supervisor and candidate for Secretary of State Don Wagner issued the following statement in response to the news that the Voter ID initiative had gained the required number of signatures to be placed on the 2026 Statewide General Election ballot:

“Today is a great day for fair elections and common-sense reform. Despite the actions by politicians to block this popular and sensible measure, more than a million voters placed it on the ballot to ensure that only eligible voters participate in our elections. Voters will get the final say and that is exciting. I want to thank the volunteers and voters who made the effort to get this measure qualified. My opponent has fought against Voter ID and other efforts to strengthen our elections on her watch. Here is my guarantee to the people of California: if voters pass this measure, as Secretary of State, I will protect it.”
