Driver arrested after single vehicle crash in Clear Creek

A Redding man was arrested for allegedly driving under the influence after he crashed his truck into several trees on Highway 147 about 1:45 p.m. Wednesday, April 15.

According to a statement from the California Highway Patrol, Paul U. Alexander, 55, of Redding was driving his 2012 Chevy work van southbound on Highway 147 from Westwood to Lake Almanor just north of the Plumas/Lassen County line when his vehicle left the roadway and collided with several trees.

The vehicle overturned and came to rest on the driver’s side. Uninjured, Alexander exited the vehicle under his own power, and no other vehicles were involved in the collision. Alexander was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence at the scene.
