Eagle Scouts and community leaders to honored at recognition dinner March 18

The Nevada Area Council, the local organization for the Boy Scouts of America, will be honoring local Eagle Scouts and distinguished adult leaders at an upcoming recognition dinner. The dinner will honor more than 90 young men and women who earned the Eagle Rank, the BSA’s highest rank, in 2021 and 2022.

The dinner will be held at 6 p.m. March 18 at the Renaissance Hotel in Reno. Members of the public, businesses and other organizations are invited to join in the celebration.

“Together, these young people provided more than 12,000 hours of community service to communities in Northern Nevada and Northeastern California,” said Laif Meidell, Council President for the Nevada Area Council. “Eagle Scouts are our community’s future leaders, and we look forward to honoring their achievement at this event.”

In addition to the Eagle Scouts, the Nevada Area Council will be recognizing five adult leaders with the organization’s Silver Beaver Award, the highest honor a local BSA organization can bestow upon adult volunteers.

Nevada Area Council’s Scout Executive, Paul Penttila said, “Our adult volunteers are the lifeblood of scouting and this year we are proud to recognize those individuals in our community who have served with honor and distinction.”
