Empathy in Education Award nominations due March 29

Lassen Family Services is seeking nominations for its Empathy in Education Award.

“Do you know a teacher, school staff member or a volunteer who is: caring, compassionate, sensitive and looks out for the needs of students? Does this person go above and beyond in their role to look out for the needs of all students? If so, nominate this person for the Empathy in Education Award,” read the Lassen Family Services flier.

Those looking to nominate someone should send 150 words or less describing the nominee, and email it to kendra.zaengle@lassenfamilyservices.org. Nominations are due March 29.

Those nominated can include nurses, teachers, volunteers, librarians, bus drivers, janitors, secretaries, speech therapists, principals or anyone who makes an impact at a school.

This award goes to a role model who has shown their compassion for children through encouragement, positivity, nurturing, and dedication to impacting the lives of the students in Lassen County.

The Empathy in Education award is presented at Lassen Family Services’ Walk A Mile. This year, Walk A Mile will be held on Saturday, April 24, at the Lassen County Fairgrounds. Register for Walk A Mile at: lfswalkamile.eventbrite.com
