Esgate shares hope for Janesville

Tom Esgate, the director of the Lassen County Fire Safe Council, worked the fire lines Sunday and shared a message of hope for the threatened community of Janesville.

In a text message, Esgate revealed resources from the LCFSC and its contractor Tubit Enterprises, were requisitioned by Cal Fire to join the assault on the Dixie Fire where it is threatening Janesville.

“I can report as of last night there are now an army of resources, dozers, engines, water trucks and support personnel that should be more than sufficient to coral the fire before it would get to Janesville, God willing.

“I worked a dozer until late night before I was relieve by more Tubit personnel.”
