Scoping has been extended for the Pikes Point Low Water Boat Ramp Project.  We were recently made aware that the link we provided for the first scoping period starting 8/8/23 was no longer functional, so we provided an extension on scoping with a new link for submitting comments. The new date to submit comments by will be October 3, 2023, please see details below. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. Comments submitted using methods outside of the electronic link do not need to be re-submitted.  

The Eagle Lake Ranger District (ELRD), of the Lassen National Forest (LNF) is proposing construction of a new low water boat ramp to provide improved boating access to Eagle Lake. This project would construct a road base-surfaced access road and boat launch ramp just west of the existing Gallatin Low Water Boat Ramp (GLWR). The Pikes Point Low Water Boat Ramp Project area is located 12 miles northwest of Susanville, CA along the southern shoreline of Eagle Lake. This project consists of approximately 0.56 acres, within Lassen County, California, in the following legal location: T. 31 N., R. 11 E., Section 7, Mount Diablo Meridian. 

The Forest Service is seeking your input as it relates to the proposed action and identification of any issues about the anticipated effects from this proposed action. Please respond by October 3rd, so your comments may be fully considered as we move through the decision-making (“NEPA”) process with this project. Comments received in response to this solicitation, including names and addresses of those who comment, are part of the public record for this proposed action.  

Projects that are categorically excluded are not subject to pre-decisional administrative review or administrative appeal. Further, they are not subject to legal notice and comment under the pre-decisional review process (36 CFR 218.23). A decision regarding this proposal is expected by the end of November 2023.
