February is Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month

According to a Facebook post from Lassen Family Services, local residents are asked to wear Orange Feb. 8 to help spread awareness and show teens going through an abusive relationship, that help is available!.

Post a picture wearing orange on social media with #GrowingHealthyRelationships and tag Lassen Family Services to be entered into a drawing to win a prize!

According to the post , nearly 1.5 million high school students nationwide experience physical abuse from a dating partner in a single year. Only 33 percent of teens who were in an abusive relationship ever told anyone about the abuse.
