Final Dixie Fire evacuation warnings lifted in Lassen County

As the Dixie Fire dwindles down, the Lassen County Sheriff’s Office lifted the final evacuation warnings in the county.

As of noon Tuesday, Sept. 21, evacuation warnings have been lifted for the following areas:

  • South and north of HWY 44 from the From the Lassen County Line to Black Gulch Rd and west to Pitville Rd. LAS-E036-B, LAS-E035-A, LAS-E035-H, LAS-E031A-A

“It’s a big deal,” Lassen County Sheriff Dean Growdon shared at today’s Lassen County Board of Supervisors meeting. He thanked partners including Cal Fire, the Forest Service, OES Chief Silas Rojas, Lassen County Health and Social Services, Public Works Director Pete Heimbigner, animal shelter staff and county administration. “I appreciate everybody’s partnership.”

All forest closures remain in place, and the burn scar areas are still closed even though all evacuation warnings and orders have been lifted.

Safety message: Be aware that there will be an increased presence of law enforcement and fire personnel working in the area. Use caution, drive with your headlights on, and yield to emergency personnel. Please see the attached information about returning home after wildfire which can be found at www.readyforwildfire.org.
