Gary Bridges, Lassen County Supervisor, District 2

Gary Bridges.

I believe in conservative values: representatives who serve the people first, balance budgets, sustainable economic development, honesty and transparency. Lassen County was built on those principles and has guided me as your District 2 Supervisor the past four years.

Having served one term on the board, I feel like I am just learning about the true role of a county supervisor.  With that as a foundation, I have developed relationships and partnership with many in the county, as well as those in other counties throughout the state. We have many challenges in the coming years, and I feel that the experienced I have gained will serve the needs of the community.

As the lead county representative to our seniors’ programs, I have spent considerable time to get our services restored, especially the nutritional program through the Dining Around Town program.  The next step is to get the in-home delivery program back and at some point we need to incorporate a congregate site to promote the socialization opportunities for our seniors.

In addition to the needs of our seniors, we need to work on keeping our youth engaged in the community and I will be working to strengthen the effort to build our community; that will be inviting to them to return after they complete their college or technical training. Susanville and Lassen County are a wonderful place to live, and they should be able to enjoy it as those of us who have chosen to remain here.

I bring a lifetime of experiences to the table. I am the son of a logger, born and raised in Lassen County. I have lived in Susanville for the last 48 years with my wife, Sherry. We have recently celebrated our 35th anniversary. We raised five children and have 11 grandchildren.

I would be honored to continue to serve the people of this great county.
