Giants, A’s and Yankees win Little League championship

The Susanville Little League Juniors show off their spirit of being number one after winning their championship game against the Giants. The regular season for Susanville Little League has come to an end; with that, each of the three divisions of Susanville Little League held a championship game.

The Minors and the Majors held their championship game on Saturday, June 3. The Juniors played their championship game on Monday, June 5.

For the Minors, the Giants and the Cardinals faced off in a fierce battle for the gold. With a great support system for both sides, the game ultimately ended with a score of 11-7 in the Giants’ favor.

The Yankees and the A’s battled it out on the diamond for the Majors. An even closer game than anticipated, the A’s ultimately left the field with the 3-2 win.

As for the Juniors, the Yankees and the Giants faced off with spirits high and

sights even higher. Ultimately, the Yankees walked away from the field clutching the trophy with a score of 11-10.

With the regular season officially at its end, it’s time for the All-Stars to take their place at the Little League field.

The two All-Star teams in Susanville consist of members selected by peers, coaches and board members of Susanville Little League. The 26 All-Stars were chosen based upon their performance

The 11- and 12-year-old team includes Sutter Moss, Tyler Zanhieser, Tucker Schall, Reece Chappius, Nash Osbourne, Seth Mallery, Ethan Shaw, Tristan Marshall, Makau Machael, Hayden Johnson, Kevin Kiar, Jack Wright and Caden Cullison.

This year’s 9- and 10-year-old team includes Joey Harrison, Zayn Wright, Jonah Moore, Dylan Joyce, Lucy Olsen, Trevor Schaap, Peyton Garate, Reegan Dunten, Cameron Wattenburg, Russell David, Alex Wyckoff, Konnor Mejia and Jac Kaupelis.

The 11- and 12-year-old All-Star team started their tournament play on Saturday, June 17 at the Modoc Little League field. The tournament continues until Thursday, June 22.

Results and the team’s placing in the tournament will be published in the Tuesday, June 27 issue.

The 9- and 10-year-old All-Stars will be hosting their tournament at the Pat Murphy Field in Susanville. The tournament is scheduled to begin on Saturday, June 24 and will run until Friday, June 30.
