Golden 1 Credit Union provides scholarship to extraordinary Susanville student; Former Miss Lassen County awarded for academic achievement and community involvement

Golden 1 Credit Union announced today it has awarded former Miss Lassen County Autry Satica a college scholarship.

Satica is among 43 exceptional students throughout California to receive a Golden 1 scholarship, which are awarded based on student’s academic achievements, community involvement, extracurricular activities and education and career goals. Recipients range from college freshmen to college seniors who attend in-state colleges or universities in the 2021-22 academic year.

“Each year, a new and impressive group of students submits high-quality applications to our scholarship program. California’s young leaders show great promise and unbelievable dedication toward their academic achievement,” said Erica Taylor, Vice President of Communications and Community Relations for Golden 1. “Golden 1 is committed to helping students succeed throughout their college careers as they grow into our next generation of leaders.”

Autry Satica is a freshman student athlete at Saddleback College in Mission Viejo, where she plays volleyball. As the daughter of parents who are an educator and coaches, the Lassen High School graduate has achieved great academic and athletic success thanks to hard work, determination, and strong family values. Satica was a member of the Future Business Leaders of America, served as class president throughout her high school career, and was crowned Miss Lassen County 2020.         Upon graduation, Satica hopes to use her degree in criminology to better her community.

The Golden 1 Credit Union Scholarship Program provides members and their dependents financial assistance, valued at up to $20,000 per student, for full-time students who plan to attend accredited, nonprofit two-year community colleges or four-year colleges and universities in California.
