Taking advantage of optimal conditions, the Bureau of Land Management Eagle Lake Field Office fire crews continue to make progress on their Rodeo Flat pile burning project.
For this week’s work, according to a Thursday post, crews needed tracked ATV’s to cross snowfields leading to the burn site near the California-Nevada border in northeast Lassen County.
The 450-acre project consists of burning piles of brush and small juniper trees that were removed in projects to improve conditions for wildlife and livestock and to lessen the risks of catastrophic wildfire.
